Niagara Jr Ice Dogs mini tournament Dec’21

What an awesome day today in St Catharines thanks to Rick Jones and the Niagara Jr Ice Dogs! It was an early start with leaving Cambridge at 7:00ish, well some of us did, another individual chose to sleep in but we will leave him nameless! We had a couple of great games, the first with the Cambridge Ice Hounds and the second with Niagara! We look forward to this tournament each year and are grateful for the opportunity! Good Games, Good Pizza, Good Fun, Great Treat Bags, Great Sportsmanship, Great Passing the puck, Great Goal tending by Jonathan Groenwegen and SOME TOTALLY AWESOME GOALS! Jessica scored twice, Hummel, Kleinstuber, Lalonde, McCormick, Price, Schoemaker, Sousa and Paulitzki all met the challenge! Thanks guys and gal for a great day, sleep well tonight!! Thanks for the support from Coach Jacques, Coach Scott, Coach Paul, Coach Sarah, and the Operations Team! Sorely missed was #27 Orpana. Brayden you continue to have an influence on the team!

In Memorial of #27 Brayden Orpana

Our hockey family is saddened with the untimely passing of #27 Brayden Orpana on November 23. Our team has never had to deal with the death of a team member and we are all struggling. Brayden had a smile as wide as the ocean, a heart full of love for his teammates, he loved the game of hockey and was an extreme encourager of all players! He could never get quite enough ice time, always wanting just a little more, just another hour, just another game. His example of persevering through a tough shoulder injury which sidelined him for a while did not dampen his enthusiasm for the game. Already we are feeling the void of his presence, our hearts, thoughts and prayers will continue with Coach Tom, his Dad and his Mom, Jen. Brothers Owen and Devyn were the pride of his life and he loved spending time with them at the rink, on the ice as well as many other sporting activities which he enjoyed. His extended family has our deepest condolences during this time of extreme grief.
