SEASON 11, WOW!!

We are so excited to soon be back on the ice, September 24th is our start date. Our BLADES family is real good at keeping in touch through emails, Facebook and social media! We would love to have you join our family, its a great place for support and for a sense of belonging to a team. We couldn’t operate without our dedicated volunteers, from on-ice coaching staff, to operations team, to a great group of families who share a lot of things in common, we are here to encourage each other. Every event whether a practise, a friendly game, a tournament – they are a blast! And we get sooo much back from the players, they are truly why we do what we do. We provide a safe environment for neuro-diverse individuals to explore their abilities on the ice and in a game. Every player plays at their own skill level and while encouraged to develop new skills, they are never pushed beyond their limits. Our team is made up of various skill levels and while we are small enough to have a mixed team, we want to continually offer skill challenges which might result in a second team of skill level, BUT the main goal is to have fun on the ice. We are members of the Canadian Adapted Hockey Alliance, all players and volunteers are insured  with iPlay Hockey, a Comprehensive General Liability Insurance Policy covering bodily injury and property damages in the amount of $5,000,000 inclusive, including full participant coverage. We do not take participation for granted, you are not just another jersey number. In fact you might see several players with the same number, its their choice and we embrace it.

Come join us, we make it very easy, a simple application! Annual fees for 2022-2023 are $350 and provide for an exciting season! Talk to us, call Paul at 519-716-7411 or Carol at 519-623-0094, we would love to chat!

See you on the ice!!

In Memorial of #27 Brayden Orpana

Our hockey family is saddened with the untimely passing of #27 Brayden Orpana on November 23. Our team has never had to deal with the death of a team member and we are all struggling. Brayden had a smile as wide as the ocean, a heart full of love for his teammates, he loved the game of hockey and was an extreme encourager of all players! He could never get quite enough ice time, always wanting just a little more, just another hour, just another game. His example of persevering through a tough shoulder injury which sidelined him for a while did not dampen his enthusiasm for the game. Already we are feeling the void of his presence, our hearts, thoughts and prayers will continue with Coach Tom, his Dad and his Mom, Jen. Brothers Owen and Devyn were the pride of his life and he loved spending time with them at the rink, on the ice as well as many other sporting activities which he enjoyed. His extended family has our deepest condolences during this time of extreme grief.
